Usui Shiki Reiki
Usui Shiki Reiki, also known is the traditional Western branch of Reiki as taught by Hawayo Takata and offers training in a Western format. In Western branches the word Reiki has been translated as ‘Universal Energy’. It may be the case that the kanji ‘rei’ was translated as ‘Universal’ because the term ‘spiritual’ was not the focus of the Western practice during the twentieth Century and it would have been more acceptable not to refer to it. The word Reiki is also used in the West to represent a healing system.
This Western branch of Reiki training includes:
Level I
During this workshop students are taught what Reiki is, the Reiki story, the hand positions for treating self and others and how to conduct a Reiki treatment. The Chakra system is also covered. They are given four attunements by a Reiki Master Teacher and at this stage they are able to treat themselves, family and friends. Includes certification and manual.
Level II
During this workshop students are taught the nature and purpose of the Reiki symbols, how to perform distant healing and how to use the Reiki symbols. They are given one attunement by a Reiki Master Teacher. At this stage as a Reiki Practitioner they can treat clients professionally. Includes certification and manual.
Level III
During this workshop students are taught the Reiki Master symbol and how to use it, the process of passing on attunements, how to teach and what to teach in Reiki first, second and third degree classes. They are given one attunement by a Master Teacher. At this stage the Reiki energy will flow stronger and vibrate at a higher level and after a suitable period of time the Reiki Master Teacher can then conduct Reiki courses and pass on attunements. Includes certification and manual.
