Course duration: 2 days attendance at our centre 9.30am – 5.30pm, typically 3 to 12 months homestudy up to a maximum of 3 years plus 2 final assessments to be carried out at our centre.

Course description: The origin of Reiki lies in the work of Dr Mikao Usui and the treatment based upon Buddhist teachings. Reiki is taught by a Reiki Master but critical aspects of the qualification are to provide a regularised format to credit training for a practitioner of Reiki therapy. The treatment consists of having the client in a comfortable position, whether lying down or sitting in a comfortable chair and then placing the hands over relevant body areas.

What will I learn? This qualification delivers Reiki Level II teachings including practical skills, interpersonal skills and underpinning knowledge of symbols required to provide treatments for clients and is suitable for those employed in beauty or holistic therapy, health related services. Reiki can be usefully combined with all other complementary therapies to enhance treatments. The skills developed are beneficial for any career and are often considered a life-changing experience on a personal and professional level.

What are the course requirements? It is recommended that you have a level of general education comparable to GCSEs and must have achieved Reiki Level I. Students who have not achieved Reiki Level I training with Chrysalis Therapy Training will be required to provide their Reiki Level I training manual, lineage, certificate and speak with the course tutor prior to the course to ascertain their level of knowledge. Students who have not achieved Reiki Level I training will be required to attend our Reiki Level I Course. It is advisable that candidates leave a period of 3-6 months before commencing Reiki Level II and 6-12 months prior to commencing Reiki Level III. You should have a caring disposition and be committed to fulfilling the in-class and guided home study components of the course. To enrol on this course you must attend an enrolment interview either in person meeting the course tutor, or via telephone/Skype. You must meet the required Guided learning Hours (GLH) by attending our centre and by attending classes in our Virtual Learning Environment, online meetings and reviews with your tutor and assessor via Moodle.

Case studies – you must carry out and document evidence for at least twenty treatments on a minimum of four clients. There must be an under 16 client and a distant Reiki treatment. Each case study must include a client questionnaire, lifestyle assessment, consent form, consultation record, treatment record, after care advice and client feedback.

How will I be assessed? This qualification requires the student to provide evidence of competence in the form of case studies or individual treatments to cover range statements, demonstrate sufficient knowledge to be able to explain Reiki Therapy and provide it safely, effectively and consistently.

Independent study is an essential part of this course and you will be required to complete both practical and theoretical assignments at home. Assessments will take place during the course and again when all your case studies and Portfolio of Evidence is completed.

How do I pay? A 40% deposit and all appropriate VTCT fees must be received by Chrysalis Therapy Training to secure a place on all of our courses and workshops. The balance is required in full, 31 days prior to the first day of the course or workshop.  Alternatively you can choose our Personalised Study Plan which allows you to pay a 40% deposit and then pay the balance by monthly payments over 3, 6 or 12 months. *Terms and conditions apply.
